Connecting CallRail to Nutshell allows your call activity to flow automatically into your account. Calls are logged as activities, default activity types can be applied, and AI-generated summaries give you a quick view of what each call was about.
Outbound calls made through CallRail or inbound calls with an assigned user will appear in Nutshell, keeping your call history organized and easy to review.
Before you start
The first user to set up CallRail in Nutshell must be an Admin within CallRail, as only Admins have the API permissions needed to create an integration. This setup is independent of your status in Nutshell.
You’ll also need your CallRail API key and Account ID to connect the integration.
You can access the CallRail setup in Nutshell by navigating to:

Log in to CallRail as an Admin
Navigate to Integrations
Click API keys to generate a new key if needed
Account ID
Your Account ID is a 9-digit number (excluding the #) and can be found in a few places:
In the URL when viewing your CallRail account
Under My Account in your CallRail account
Company ID
In the All Companies section under Account Settings, select the company you want and note the ID.
Keep these details handy for the integration setup.
Admin setup in Nutshell
Once you have your API key and Account ID:
Go to Your Settings > Phone in Nutshell and select CallRail.
Enter the API key and Account ID.
If there is an existing integration, Admins can go to the Integrations tab and select Manage to update settings.
For each company, you can access Advanced settings to find the Webhook Signature secret token.
Once the setup is complete, calls associated with the integration will start appearing in Nutshell.
After you’re connected
Once your CallRail integration is up and running, your call activity will start flowing into Nutshell automatically. You’ll see outbound calls made through CallRail and inbound calls assigned to a user appear in your Calls page, complete with AI-generated summaries to give you quick insight into each conversation.
From here, you’re all set. Your calls will stay organized, easy to review, and connected to the rest of your workflow, so you can focus on the conversations that matter most.
Note: At this time, calls placed through CallRail can’t be initiated directly from inside Nutshell; you’ll continue making your calls through CallRail, and those call activities can be managed in Nutshell.

Can I configure multiple phone integrations?
If your team uses multiple phone services, you can connect multiple accounts with Nutshell. This will enable you to call contacts using any of your phone systems and automatically log those calls accurately. Nutshell also integrates seamlessly with Aircall, Dialpad, and RingCentral.
