Scheduled exports are available on Nutshell Pro and above.
If you're regularly exporting the same list or report to share with your team or manager, Scheduled exports will save you a lot of time. Set it up once, and Nutshell will automatically send the latest data as a CSV to whoever needs it — daily, weekly, or monthly — without anyone having to log in and pull it manually.
It's great for keeping your manager updated on new leads, sharing a weekly pipeline summary with your sales team, or sending data to an external tool or app on a regular cadence.
Getting started with Scheduled exports
Your admin can get a scheduled export report set up in just a few steps:
On a Company, People or Leads page, open a saved list or saved report you want to schedule. If it isn't saved yet, Nutshell will walk you through saving it before you continue.
Click the Export menu in the top right and choose Schedule export.
If you’d like to schedule a saved report, click the Download menu and choose Schedule export.
Give your export a name, or edit the one that's been filled in automatically.
Choose your frequency — daily, weekly, or monthly, then pick the specific day you'd like it to go out.
Add your recipient email addresses. You can add anyone, including people who do not have a Nutshell account.
Click Schedule export and that's it — Nutshell takes it from there.
Here’s what you’ll receive in your inbox
Each time a scheduled export runs, Nutshell generates a fresh CSV from your saved list or report and emails it out early that morning.
Smaller exports arrive as a CSV file attached directly to the email. For larger exports, the email will include a secure download link instead — no Nutshell login needed to access it, and it stays active for around two weeks.
Emails come from Nutshell Reports and include the name of the list or report, so everyone knows exactly what they're looking at.
Managing your scheduled exports
As an admin, you’ll be able to see all scheduled reports in one place. Head to Settings> Data > Scheduled exports.
From there you can:
See each scheduled export, how often it sends and when it runs next.
Pause a schedule at any time by toggling it off, you can always turn it back on when you're ready.
Delete a schedule when you no longer need it.
Tips for best results
Set up your saved list or report exactly how you want it before scheduling — the export will include the same columns and filters you've already saved, so it's worth getting those right first.
A weekly or monthly cadence works well for manager updates. Daily is better suited for fast-moving lists where things change frequently.
If you have people outside your company who need regular updates, just add their email addresses and they'll receive the export without needing a Nutshell account.
It's worth checking your scheduled reports every now and then to make sure everything is running as expected.
FAQs
Who can set up a scheduled export?
Only admins can create and manage scheduled exports, and it's available on Pro plans and above.
Can I send exports to someone who doesn't use Nutshell?
Yes, absolutely. You can add any email address — it doesn't need to be tied to a Nutshell account.
What happens to my schedules if my plan changes?
If your account drops below Pro, your schedules will be paused automatically rather than deleted, so nothing is lost.
Why did the export arrive as a link instead of an attachment?
Larger exports are sent as a secure download link rather than an attachment. The link doesn't require a Nutshell login and stays active for around two weeks.
