In this post, we will take a look at how best to import your past sales for easy and powerful reporting.

What information do I need to import?

Leads in Nutshell are your business opportunities with companies and people. As such, you must first create a company or a person page with which to associate your closed lead. The following must be created as columns in your .csv file prior to import.

  • Related entity (Person/Company name)

  • Product Name

  • Product Value

  • Statuses: Won, Lost, Cancelled

  • Description (Lead name)

You may additionally map the following fields to your closed leads, if this is information you’d like to report on:

How should my file be formatted?

The file that you're importing into Nutshell must have each piece of information in its own column.

  • Include columns for product name, product value, status and lead description, and any other unique pieces of information you want to add to Nutshell

  • Lead opened and lead closed dates should be in MM-DD-YYYY or MM/DD/YYYY format

Where do I go to view and report on my past sales?

The Sales report is the first report you see when you enter the Reports section of Nutshell and provides you with information on all of your won leads.

You can change the incremental time bucket of each bar in the chart using the Day, Week, Month, Quarter, and Year selections at the top right corner of the chart.

To compare sales with a previous period, check the ‘Compare to’ box in the date-picker. You can decide between a year-over-year comparison or compare to a previous period. The latter option will use the same length as the time frame you're reporting on.
