When you are on a call with a prospect or customer, your focus is on the conversation. You are listening closely, asking the right questions, and agreeing on what should happen next.

With Nutshell AI, those next steps do not have to live only in your notes—they’re automatically converted into tasks, so you never miss a thing.

After your meeting is recorded and summarized, Nutshell AI reviews the takeaways. If clear follow-ups were discussed during the call, they are automatically turned into tasks and assigned to you as the meeting host. This means you can move straight from conversation to action, all while letting Nutshell AI handle the manual work.

What does Nutshell AI create?

When follow-ups are identified in the call summary, Nutshell AI will:

  • Create tasks for open leads connected to the meeting

  • Assign the tasks to the meeting host

  • Link each task back to the original activity

Before creating anything, we’ll check your existing tasks to avoid duplicates. If a similar task is already there, Nutshell AI will not create another one.

You will see the task in the Tasks section of the related open lead. Each task includes a label showing it was generated from a summary and a link back to the meeting that created it.

Inside the meeting activity

Open the logged meeting and navigate to the Generated tasks tab. Here you can see all tasks created from that specific summary and manage them directly.

How Nutshell decides what to create

To make sure follow-up tasks are accurate and relevant, Nutshell looks at important context from your meeting before generating anything.

This includes:

  • The meeting summary, especially the takeaways and action items

  • The meeting host, so tasks are assigned to the right person

  • Your timezone, to ensure due dates align correctly

  • The meeting or call time, to connect tasks to the correct activity

  • Your existing tasks, to prevent duplicates

By considering all of this information together, Nutshell creates follow-up tasks that are properly connected, correctly assigned, and immediately actionable.

How to turn AI follow-up task creation on or off

This feature is controlled at the user level. If you host the meeting, your personal setting determines whether tasks are generated from your call summaries.

To manage this, go to Settings > Your settings

If the setting is off, Nutshell will not create tasks from meetings you host.
