Company hierarchy is available on Nutshell Pro and above.

If you manage client relationships and leads across different child companies within a large organization, setting up a company hierarchy will help you manage these leads and connections easily.

Nutshell's Company hierarchy is ideal for managing companies with multiple subsidiaries. It provides a structured view of the entire organization and an at-a-glance view of total sales for child companies individually and combined.

Getting started

To start setting up parent/child relationships, head over to a company's page in Nutshell. You'll find the 'Company hierarchy' section in the Company page sidebar.

Add a parent company

When you designate a company as a parent, it becomes the main hub for its child companies. Here's how:

1. Click the +Add a parent button

2. From the dialog, you can search and add an existing company as the parent company:

or you can create a new parent company directly:

3. Once a parent company is added, the heading changes from ‘Company hierarchy’ to ‘Parent company’ to help you clearly distinguish the parent company from child companies:

Note: Only one company can be added as a parent company within an organization.

If you’d like to unassociate a company from its designation, simply click the ‘x’ on the company card, we’ll show the below confirmation message. Clicking the ‘Yes, unassociate’ button immediately removes the designation of a parent/child company.

View leads rolled up on a parent company page

View all child leads, including their status and value, directly on the parent company page. This rolled-up view makes it easy to get a comprehensive overview of individual sales and combined sales as the parent company.

This can also be viewed as lead cards in the ‘Child leads’ dialog when clicking on the rolled up lead section.

Additionally, clicking ‘View all’ in the ‘Child leads’ dialog directs you to the filtered child leads list:

Filter views for parent and child lists

Our custom filter options make it easy to tailor your list view to your specific needs. You can filter by parent company:

or child companies in the Companies list view:
