Within every list view in Nutshell, you will see a Create lead button at the bottom of the page that lets you create a lead for each selected contact in just one click.
That’s right! Long gone are the days of only being able to manually create a single lead at a time or having to re-import a list of existing contacts to create multiple leads at once.
While on any list, select the boxes of contacts you’d like leads created for and click the Create lead button.
You’ll see a lead creation form pop-up, allowing you to add details. You can choose whether Nutshell creates a lead for each selected entity or creates a single lead for all selected entities.
If you’re creating a lead for each selected entity, Nutshell will pre-populate the person name, company name, and lead name with available information. These can be edited on the actual lead page after creation.
Creating a lead for each selected entity
If you’re creating a single lead for all selected entities, you’ll be able to edit the lead name, and edit company and people selections within the form.
Creating a single lead for all selected entities
Nutshell will confirm how many leads are being created, then direct you to a list of your new leads.
Creating leads from a list of existing contacts in Nutshell is ideal when:
Not every contact in your database is meant to be a lead. Your CRM should contain all your business contacts, from vendors, to board members, to newsletter subscribers. Instead of automatically assigning a lead to every new contact (which creates clutter, see below), you can use Nutshell's list-filtering and Create lead button to take a more fine-tuned approach to which contacts get associated with leads.
Your lead list feels cluttered. Having a large number of unidentified leads in your CRM can feel overwhelming. Having more control and intention over which leads are created promotes order from the chaos.
You imported a large number of contacts, but—uh oh!—you forgot to check the box to also create leads! We’ve got your back! If you imported a batch of contacts, you can locate and segment them by going to your companies or people list and filtering by Origin. From there, you can select the contacts you’d like leads for and hit the Create lead button. You can use these same steps for contacts imported without a lead created from a webform or through the API!
