Wondering how you should establish your email sharing settings as a manager or executive team member? You have come to the right place!

By design, Nutshell is intended to serve as a collaborative tool for teams, but certain communications such as emails from HR or payroll are not meant to be shared.

Connecting your Nutshell account with Google

Would you like to take advantage of Nutshell's Google integration? Setting up this integration is a cinch, but as a manager, you'll want to make sure a few things are taken into consideration during your setup process.

You may also consider only enabling calendar sync from Nutshell to your native calendar, but not enabling the sync from your calendar back to Nutshell. This will prevent the automatic creation of people in Nutshell via the calendar event sync. Click here to learn more about limiting calendar sync for Google users.

  3. Click Set up email with Nutshell

Option 2: Enable mail sync, sync only labeled messages into Nutshell and choose not to automatically share any messages with Nutshell

  1. Click the user icon in the lower left, then Your settings

  2. Click Send under the Email section

  3. Click Set up email with Nutshell

  4. Follow the steps in the wizard to connect your email, clicking Yes, sync my email after step 2

  5. Under Which emails would you like to sync into Nutshell?, choose Just those I label Nutshell

  6. Under Which emails should be visible to your team?, select None, I'll manually choose which to share

  7. Follow these instructions to learn how to add labeled messages from your Gmail inbox into Nutshell

  8. Additionally, you may add any sensitive email addresses to your personal blocklist which you know you would never like to see emails from inside of your account, even if they are forwarded into your Nutshell account by accident!
