Leads can automatically enter and leave email marketing campaigns based on where they are in the buying process.
Integrate your sales process with MailChimp to be sure that your prospects are receiving the right messages at the right time.
Set up MailChimp
First, you’ll need a MailChimp account with at least one audience.
To integrate Nutshell and MailChimp:
- Go to the Sales automation page in your company settings
- Click on your pipeline
- Under the MailChimp banner, click Connect with MailChimp
- Enter your MailChimp username and password, then click Log In
Automatically add and remove leads from MailChimp audiences
Your leads should be receiving different email content during the separate phases of their buying journeys. In Nutshell, you can automate when leads are added and removed from different campaigns. You can also overlap their subscriptions; for example, you could add them to a newsletter and an onboarding drip.
To automatically subscribe leads to an audience at a certain stage in your pipeline:
- Click the + button below the MailChimp banner
- Select your MailChimp audience from the first dropdown
- Select the stage where the lead should be unsubscribed from the second dropdown
- Click Save
You also have the option to keep the lead in the audience forever (or until they decide to unsubscribe themselves).
Edit or delete an email marketing automation
You can make changes to the setup by clicking on the MailChimp automation. From the side panel, you can select a different audience, choose to remove the lead from an audience in a later stage, or delete the automation entirely.
FAQ
What happens if I add a person to a lead at a later stage than when the lead is supposed to add them to my drip campaign?
Any new people on a lead will be automatically added to your MailChimp drip unless you add them during or after a stage that removes a lead from a specific campaign.
Why are my contacts immediately added and unsubscribed from MailChimp audiences?
Nutshell will immediately add all contacts associated with an open lead to the MailChimp audience in that lead's pipeline. We will then unsubscribe them, immediately. Once they have reached the stage of your pipeline where you've requested they be subscribed to a campaign, we will re-subscribe them to that campaign, as they are already in your audience.
What happens if a lead closes before they reach a stage where they are automatically removed from a MailChimp audience?
If a lead closes before they are supposed to be removed from a MailChimp audience, Nutshell will remove them from the audience automatically at the time the lead closes, unless your pipeline is set up to keep them in the audience "forever".
